Seems to me google search results are the same as ever, they just put a G+ widget on the side and Twitter and Facebook peeps are upset they weren't included so they're calling it "evil".

It's also including Google+ pages in suggested search, and seems to prioritize those pages in organic search too.

I don't have an opinion of if it's evil, but I think it is more than just the sidebar.
